Los Números 1–10

Cultural connection

Un elefante — the counting song

Children across Latin America grow up with “Un elefante se balanceaba” — a silly song about elephants balancing on a spiderweb, adding one more elephant each verse. It is exactly the kind of counting-forever song kids love in any language. Find it online and balance along!

Unit 3 progress check

A light, no-pressure way to see what is sticking:

  • Can your child count to 10 in Spanish without help?
  • Do they answer ¿Cuántos hay? when you show them 3 or 4 objects?
  • Can they show the right number of fingers for a spoken Spanish number?

Two out of three is a great place to move on — everything spirals back in later units.
