El Cuerpo
The Body
Heads, shoulders, knees and toes — now in Spanish! The body is the one visual aid every student brings to class. This unit is the most movement-heavy of the year, starring the Spanish version of Simon Says.
Unit objectives
By the end of this unit, students will be able to:
- Name eight body parts in Spanish
- Touch the right body part when it is named
- Play Simón dice (Simon Says) in Spanish
- Sing along to Cabeza, hombros, rodillas y pies

Cabeza, hombros, rodillas y pies
Children in Spanish-speaking countries sing their own version of Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes: “Cabeza, hombros, rodillas y pies.” Same tune, same giggles, different language. Find it online and sing both versions back to back — which one is faster?
Unit 7 progress check
A light, no-pressure way to see what is sticking:
- Can your child touch the right body part when you name it in Spanish?
- Can they lead one round of Simón dice as the caller?
- Do they catch YOU when you touch the wrong part on purpose?
Two out of three is a great place to move on — everything spirals back in later units.
