Two lessons, one warm welcome
Saying hello, around the Spanish-speaking world
In many Spanish-speaking countries, friends and family often greet each other with a warm hug or a kiss on the cheek, and it’s common to greet every person in a room individually, not just wave to everyone at once. Customs vary by country and family — there’s no single “right” way, just lots of warm ones.
Unit 1 progress check
A light, no-pressure way to see what’s sticking:
- Can your child say Hola and Adiós without a prompt?
- Can they answer ¿Cómo te llamas? with their name?
- Do they recognize gracias and por favor when they hear them?
Two out of three is a great place to move on — everything spirals back in later units.
