Cultural connection

Animals speak Spanish too

A dog in English says woof — but in Spanish, ¡guau guau! A rooster says kikirikí, not cock-a-doodle-doo. Same animals, different “languages.” This delights every child who discovers it. What does a Spanish cat say? ¡Miau! (Okay, that one is close.)

Unit 8 progress check

A light, no-pressure way to see what is sticking:

  • Can your child name four animals from pictures?
  • Can they match the Spanish animal sound to the animal?
  • Do they say which animal they like: Me gusta…?

Two out of three is a great place to move on — everything spirals back in later units.
